So you'd like to own a piece of Norfolk Island?

Buying a house here and living in it for periods up to 4 months per year is no trouble at all. If you wish to stay in your holiday house for up to six months, present policy normally allows this under a Temporary Entry Permit. This type of permit can be extended for up to three years if you meet immigration criteria and have a work contract with a resident. To stay for longer periods, you must make a firm commitment to reside here permanently. and apply for a General Entry Permit. This normally involves the purchase of a business or, failing that,  the ability to make a unique contribution to the island. A local estate agent can inform you of which houses or businesses are available for purchase.  If you like the idea of living virtually tax-free, crime-free and pollution-free . . .
